Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to make a reservation?

Walk-ins are always welcome but we do recommend making reservations, especially for weekend adventures. A reservation helps to assure the availability of your preferred watercraft and allows us to register you quicker during busy periods. What type of watercraft do you suggest for my group?

All our canoes are 17′ long. One-person kayaks are easy to maneuver. Two person kayaks are a unique experience. Rafts are large and won’t tip over, perfect for young families and older persons. Up to 6 persons will fit in a raft. Tubes provide a totally relaxing day on the river.

How many people can we put in a canoe?

Our canoes will comfortably accommodate up to three adults. A maximum of four persons may be allowed if comprised of 2 adults and 2 children the age of 8 years and under.

What is the river like?

The Nationally Designated Scenic White River is a pristine river that flows through state and national forests, so you will be in a nature setting during your entire adventure. The river averages between 2 – 4 feet in depth, and the water flows 3 – 5 miles per hour over a sand bottom. The water does carry sediment, but it is void of any pollutants.

What should we wear, pack?

Wading is a favorite activity so wear appropriate river shoes to protect your feet! Waterproof cameras, snacks, water and sunscreen are recommended. Keys, wallets, non-waterproof cameras, cell phones and any other valuables you don’t want to lose should not be taken on the river. Don’t forget to bring a change of clothes!
